Water Mains Renewal - Barking
Replacement of 2.1km of existing cast iron water mains with new polyethylene pipes. Also replace existing property service pipes and external control boxes from the water mains to the property boundary within the public highway. August 2017 – November 2017 We are investing £0.4 million to improve our water mains network in the Barking area. This will improve supplies to 650 properties in the area of Keir Hardy Way and surrounding streets.

The old water mains we shall be replacing are in the following streets:
Keir Hardy Way
Ben Tillet Close
Margaret Bondfield Avenue
Meadow Road
Merton Road
Bevan Avenue
Lansbury Avenue
The work will commence in Keir Hardy Way at the Lodge Avenue end towards the end of August 2017. We shall work our way across towards Meadow Road at the Upney Lane end and then finish back towards Bevan Avenue and Lansbury Avenue. Altogether, the whole project should take approximately 2 months and be completed in November 2017.
