GENERAL PROJECT

Holton Valley Farm, Bungay Road

Essex and Suffolk Water are carrying out some Groundwater source investigation works near to Holton Village. These investigation works, involving drilling and testing of a new Groundwater Borehole, are within the field we already own off of Bungay Road. This essential investigatory works will help to inform our future investment and any further work we may carry out on the water supply network. This will help ensure that our existing water supply network remains resilient in the future and that we continue to supply our existing customers in the area with great tasting tap water.

Our commitment to you

As part of our ongoing commitment, we are investing approximately £3 million to improve the resilience of the Holton Water Treatment Works. This investment will ensure we can continue to provide high-quality tap water that meets the needs of our customers.

The Holton Water Treatment Works serves the local area by extracting groundwater under an Environment Agency permit. The water is then treated to make it safe for consumption and distributed through our network. Over time, the condition of the existing groundwater extraction infrastructure has deteriorated, so investment is needed to secure a new viable extraction point. In the future this will be connected to the Water Treatment Works to ensure it continues to operate within permit requirements and supply great-tasting tap water to our customers.
