To ensure Essex & Suffolk Water (ESW) can continue to deliver excellent quality water, we are planning the replacement of our sandwashing plant at Layer Water Treatment Works. The new sandwasher will be located in a new purpose-built yard to the west of the existing site.
There will be no change to the traffic in and out of the treatment works as a result of the new sandwasher, however there will be an unavoidable increase during the construction works next year. We will develop a detailed traffic management plan to avoid extra traffic at school start and finish times and will work together with the Parish Council and the Local Authority to minimise any inconvenience to local residents.
