Trinity Broads

Essex & Suffolk Water, in conjunction with our partners MWH, Natural England, the Environment Agency, the Broads Authority and Norfolk Wildlife Trust, will be mud pumping specific areas of the Trinity Broads during the winter of 2016/17.

Update by Craig Robertson

Mud pumping has now commenced in Filby Broad. One area in Filby Broad is largely complete and the works will now focus on the area in the Muckfleet mouth. Advanced works will also be taking place in Ormesby Broad, Ormesby Little Broad and Lily Broad to install floating curtains ahead of the mud pumping works in those locations.

Floating pipes will be seen at various locations during the works such as in the photograph of Filby Broad. Water users are kindly asked to stay clear of these; the yellow floats should make them clearly visible.
